Type: Alien

Location: Tundra/Civilized Area

Height/Weight: Grows to that of a large building.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: Don't you all just wish that we could just for a moment ditch the obsession with making all our monsters in CGI and go back to basics? That time where everything was indeed there, for better or for worse. This isn't to say that modern monsters are inferior to the old, by no means is that true, it's just that when they go practical, they tend to make something a bit more memorable. Though calling this film memorable depends on how much you loved "The Thing". If that one excited you, this'll test your nerves all the same.

History: Somewhere in the frozen regions of the Bering Sea, a Soviet space capsule lies below the ice, having been there for about three decades. A bunch of students on their big boat, the Harbinger, find the capsule...and accidentally unleash its contents. That being a huge alien tardigrade that turns everything it kills into horrific monsters. Soon, the Harbinger becomes a breeding ground as the humans are picked off by the many aberrations that spawn from the tardigrade's actions.

Notable Kills: The infected aren't all that dead, but they count to some extent.

Final Fate: After the tardigrade turns into a gigantic worm-like beast, the survivor manages to steer the Harbinger into some more ice, burying the monster under tons of it. Whether it'll remain frozen or not, none can say...

Powers/Abilities: Whatever the tardigrade, or one of its spawn, manages to kill, it can then use the corpse to malform it into a mindless creature.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 4-We can safely say that John Carpenter would be proud of the absolute horror that stalks this ship. All of its many forms are equal parts lots of teeth, disgusting body mutations, and lots of writhing and slimy tentacles. And it just keeps getting stronger. You'd swear this abomination was related to the thing that menaced Kurt Russel all those years ago. And that's no coincidence, either.

Trivia: -This film was infamously known as the film made by the founders of Studio ADI, the very same people who got all of their practical effects for the 2011 prequel to "The Thing" scrapped in favor of CGI. They had a whole Kickstarter campaign about it, and while they didn't make nearly as much as they had for that film, we can say that it was a lot more worthwhile than whatever the Hell those hair-brained executives thought would make the big bucks back then.

-Tardigrades, or water bears/moss piglets as they are often known as, may be microscopic, but they are among the most tenacious of all creatures in the animal kingdom, capable of surviving in any environment, even the vacuum of space! Also, they're quite adorable to see in action. A far cry from the monster seen here.

"YOU'RE AN INAMINATE F-ING OBJECT!"
Many secrets, but we stopped counting at this one.

Even if what you get is hunchbacked, you absorb what you can get.
Just looking at this, you'd think out heroes would think twice about awakening it.

A porno goes HORRIBLY wrong.
Look out! Divine tapeworms!
